Over the past year we have been having evening ‘prayer spaces’, where people can come, relax and reflect on life and God in a non-pressurised environment. Our August Prayer Space will be a little different – instead of an hour in the evening, we'll be opening the church up for two hours on a Saturday morning. Holiday Club 2016

The theme of the Chard Churches Together Holiday Club for 2016 is “On Your Marks!” Monday 25th July - Friday 29th July 9.15am - 1.00pm St Mary's Church, Chard. Online registration is closed but you can still register 'on the day'. The club is for primary school aged children (reception to year 6). Chard Churches Together Pentecost Praise (short service held near the chapel entrance) and Picnic at Forde Abbey, on Sunday 15th May 2016 at 5pm. There will be informal worship, games, picnic (bring your own) and a chance to enjoy the lovely gardens at Forde Abbey. Women’s World Day of Prayer 2016

On Friday 4th March, churches around the world will be celebrating the Women's World Day of Prayer. There will be about 5,600 services taking place in the United Kingdom, attended by both women and men. This year's service is written by the Christian women of Cuba and is entitled Receive children. Receive me.  CBC is hosting a Chard Churches Together ecumenical service at 7pm. There is also an earlier service at 2.30pm at Combe St. Nicholas Methodist Church.

Theme for 2016

This year, as a church, we are going to explore  an ongoing theme. That theme is this: following Jesus by loving God and loving others. This phrase is going to be a way that we can explore our core vocation as a church here at CBC. 'Following Jesus' is about our life of discipleship, 'loving God' refers to our lives of worship and 'loving others' looks at our mission life as a church.
